What I love is that the people look so prehistoric or post apocalyptic, like they have become members of the dog pack. Or the dogs have become members of the tribe. But they are equals now. Maybe that is the way it will be in the new order. Dog fur might be more precious than the greenback in the not so near future. Start saving Kramer's fur. It might be a long winter...

As a hand-spinner, with a passion for chiengora AKA dog fluff yarns, I love this photo series!
One of the best things about dog hair is it's something the average dog owner has PLENTY of, and it's said to be 10 times warmer than wool! My favorite scarf is a 6 foot long Samoyed and mohair blend scarf I'll wear out, all wrapped up in on the COLD rainy Oregon nights when I'm out with the dogs. It's waterproof, super soft, and WARM!
With one 'wool dog' like a Samoyed, Chow, or Pyrenees you could have enough shedding that when blended with wool, could make a super warm afghan, AND a few sweaters!
Dog hair is seen by some as a waste, and others as a precious, functional fiber! Many Eskimo, and Indian tribes used chiengora in their spinning, weaving, and clothing.

Oh, my goodness. This post was so weird and wild and subversive in a way and completely distracting. Thanks.

I didn't see Cruella Devil there! no Dalmation coats then, with skin attached.
how great is that?
I just can't figure out how to get the necessary amount of fur from a Chihuahua...

Oh man! I can't believe someone already thought of this. Every time my German Shepherd malts we figures we could make a sweater out of the fur. I just never thought past the concept stage.

OMG! It sorta of freaks me out but I had a Bernese Mountain Dog that could of contributed to many sweaters for me. I should have thought of this! LOL!

Haha, this is too funny! Ditto manon; our golden mix sheds constantly (lucky for us he is the same color as our carpet! :p) and this never occurred to us but I love it!
