Here Far Away, a retrospective of Finnish photographer Pentti Sammallahti's photographs from around the world, published by Dewi Lewis Publishing in England made many "best of 2012" photo book lists. I especially like Mike Johnston's review at The Online Photographer. Mike threw out his originally published list when Here Far Away arrived in the mail.

I selected some of my favorite Pentti Sammallahti's photographs of dogs from various websites including Peter Fetterman Gallery, The Guardian, How to See, and Photo-Eye Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which is showing an exhibition of Sammallahti's work until February 9, 2013.
