Earlier, I reported that President Obama would arrive at the White House at 5:50 PM EST, and there might possibly be a puppy there to greet him. The puppy rumors are still swirling, but I am sure you've noticed that the President is not home yet. My reporting was based on Politico's schedule of the President, which did not include his surprise trip to Baghdad.
Now, I think I have pinpointed his arrival time as 11:34 PM EST. Please feel free to check my math. Here are the facts I am basing this on:
- The President left Baghdad at 9 PM local time.
- The flight to Washington D.C. takes 9 hours, 14 minutes, and 55 seconds
- The time difference between Baghdad and D.C. is -7 hours
- It takes 20 minutes for Marine One to fly from Andrews Air Force Base to the White House.
POTUS's arrival time: 11:34 and 55 seconds PM, Eastern Standard Time. (I think.)
Now, surly Sasha and Malia will be in bed already, AND since a Portie -- the rumored breed -- will be hard to see in the dark, AND because the White House Press corp got stranded in Istanbul with a faulty plane...I don't think we are going to meet the First Puppy today. But, stay tuned...I am tracking any and all breaking First Dog news. Tips are welcome.

Oh my goodness, now you have me checking to see how this turns out, LOL! this is all very exciting. I really do hope they end up with their puppy.
If you turn out to be right here, I think they will have done the right thing by slipping the puppy in under the radar instead of making a bit issue out of it and letting the media tear it all apart as they did with Biden's puppy. I think that with the health concerns of the daughter, they needed to be as selective as possible about the dog they choose.
I'll keep watching!
