Yesterday someone asked me what I thought about all the frenzy surrounding the Obamas' new puppy. My answer, "It's only just beginning," surprised the person. He thought all the interest in Bo would die down now that his identity had been revealed. But now the questions and the controversies regarding every aspect of the First Dog's life will bubble up and everyone has an opinion.
Over at Obama Foodorama, an incredible blog that covers everything from food policy to White House menus, Eddie Gehman Kohan interviewed Marion Nestle, a world-renowned expert on food safety, sustainable food systems, and nutrition, and writer of Pet Food Politics: The Chihuahua in the Coal Mine (along with four other books on food politics), and asked her what the Obamas should feed Bo and how the Obamas' new puppy might impact the policies that govern the safety of all our food.
