I watched "Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston" on Netflix. It's a bit sloppy, but the story of self-creation and excess is fascinating.
And there are great photographs, especially a few of the iconic 70s designer with his Pekingese, Linda, in their NYC apartment. According to Andy Warhol, when they traveled to Paris together in 1979, "all Halston wanted to do was get his dog a piece of Vuitton. Luggage for Linda."
Photo via Doug & Gene Meyer's blog, that has an excellent collection of photos from the apartment and a few more of Linda, too.
More Halston love where I originally found the photo at C S's Halston Pinterest board.
